Andrew Bridgeman graduated from Dentistry in 1989 with full honours grades and from Medicine in 1996 with full honours grades, both at the University of Melbourne. Throughout the courses he achieved multiple academic prizes. He completed his Australian Specialist Fellowship in 1999 and was awarded the ANZAOMS prize for highest marks amongst all candidates. He also completed a higher university qualification of Masters Degree in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery through the University of Melbourne in 2000, producing multiple publications and a written thesis held by the university.
After completing his Fellowship examinations, Andrew spent a further 12 months in the Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham, United Kingdom. He gained experience and further training in the management of major facial injuries, the surgical management of head and neck cancer, the reconstruction of facial deformities, and microsurgical techniques.
Andrew has been a consultant specialist Oral & Maxillofacial surgeon at the Austin Hospital, Western Hospital and The Royal Dental Hospital in the past and is now focused entirely in private practice. He regularly lectures and demonstrates to postgraduate dentists through The University of Melbourne and various professional organisations. He is a past committee member of multiple professional associations related to specialist Oral & Maxillofacial surgery.
Outside of work, Andrew enjoys gardening, handywork and is a car enthusiast. He takes every opportunity to take long walks with his wife, daughters and beloved family dogs.
